Using the assistant
What the assistant can answer, what it cannot, and where its answers come from.
This article is for members of an organisation that uses Portava.
The assistant answers questions using your organisation's own published content, such as events, news, resources and articles like this one. Ask it things the way you would ask a person, such as "when is the next networking event?" or "is there a template for onboarding new staff?"
What it is good at
It is good at finding the right resource when you do not know what it is called, summarising what is coming up, and answering "does my organisation do X?" questions. It reads the same published content you can, so it is a faster way through the library.
It also shows its sources, so you can open the underlying page and read the full detail.
What it cannot do
The assistant cannot see your personal data, such as your billing, your bookings or your messages. It cannot take actions for you. It will not book an event or change a setting.
It also only knows what has been published. If something is still in draft, or was never written down, the assistant does not know it exists.
If an answer looks wrong
Every answer is generated from your organisation's published content. A wrong answer usually means the underlying page is out of date, or that no page answers the question at all.
Check the sources it cites. If the content itself is stale, tell your organisation which page. That fixes the answer for everyone who asks after you.
