How to get started with Portava
From requesting access to launching to your members: the access code, the setup portal, what Portava sets up, and the getting-started checklist.
In short
- Ask for access; we reply within two working days with a code.
- The setup portal collects your details, brand assets, tiers and member data.
- Portava applies branding and imports members, then you launch in waves.
Portava is not self-serve sign-up. Every organisation is taken on by a person, because a portal launched badly is worse than one launched a fortnight later. Here is the route from first contact to live.
1. Ask for access
Fill in the request form with your email, your organisation's name and a sentence on what you hope Portava will fix. We read every request ourselves and reply within two working days, with a code or an honest answer about when we can take you on.
2. Create your portal
The access code arrives by email. It works once and expires 30 days after it is issued; if it lapses, ask for a new one. Use it to create your portal and its first administrator.
3. The setup portal
You get a link to a setup portal that lists what we need from you:
- your organisation details
- brand assets: logos, colours, fonts and any guidelines
- your membership tiers, pricing and renewal rules
- a CSV export of your members from your current system
- moderation preferences (optional)
- your Stripe account connected, if you take payments online
Then two sign-offs: approve how your portal looks, and confirm you are ready to launch.
4. Portava does the setup
We apply your branding, country and currency, and import your members, companies and renewal dates. Nothing is sent to members during the import. Your first sign-in is to a portal that already looks like yours.
5. Launch
The getting-started checklist in your administrator portal shows what is done and what is next, derived from your real data. When you are ready, send welcome invites from the Members page: founding members first, then the rest in waves.
