Downloading your data and leaving

This article is for members of an organisation that uses Portava.

In short

• Download a copy of your data from Settings, then Privacy. It is a single JSON file.
• You cannot delete your own account from the portal; ask your organisation.
• Erasure removes your details but keeps records the organisation must hold, with your name removed.

You can take a copy of your data at any time. Leaving is a request to your organisation rather than a button; here is why.

Downloading your data

Go to Settings, then Privacy, and choose Download my data. A single JSON file is saved to your device. It opens with a plain-English note, then lists your membership record, sign-in account and activity: events, discussions, articles, saved items, survey answers, assistant conversations, invoices and emails sent to you.

A final "withheld" section names anything not reproduced, such as staff notes, with a count and how to ask for them. If it is empty, nothing was left out.

The download covers this portal only. For another organisation on Portava, ask them separately.

Asking to be deleted

There is no delete button. Erasure is permanent, reaches other people's conversations, and must leave records an organisation keeps by law, so a person makes the decision. Email your organisation and ask; the Privacy page shows the address. They confirm once it is done.

What erasure does

Your name, contact details, profile and photo are removed from your membership record. Saved items, viewing history, notifications, assistant conversations and your question answers are deleted. Discussions you wrote stay with your name removed, so other people's replies survive. Invoices and payment records are kept, as the law requires, without your name.

Your sign-in account is cleared only if this was your last portal on Portava.
