Creating and sending a survey
Adding questions, choosing who gets the survey, deciding on anonymity, and reading the results.
This article is for the administrators who run an organisation's Portava portal.
In short
- Anonymity is decided before a survey opens and cannot be changed after.
- Send to an audience, and results build as answers arrive.
Building
Open Surveys and choose Create a survey. Add questions, which can be multiple choice, scale or free text. Then decide whether the survey is anonymous.
Anonymous surveys record answers without who gave them. This cannot be changed after the survey opens.
Who gets it
Choose an audience, or everyone. Members see open surveys under Surveys in their portal. You can also promote it by email, on the home page, or attached to an event follow-up.
Results
Results build as answers arrive, with charts for choice and scale questions and a list for free text. Export to CSV for anything more. Named surveys let you follow up with individuals, and anonymous ones do not.
Closing
Set a closing date, or close it by hand. Members with an unfinished response are reminded before it closes.
