Completing your profile
What other members can see, which fields help people find you, and how to keep your details current.
This article is for members of an organisation that uses Portava.
Your profile is how other members find you and decide to get in touch. An empty profile makes you hard to find in the directory you joined to appear in.
What other members see
Other signed-in members can see your name, photo, role and organisation in the member directory, along with anything else you add to your profile. People search the directory by name, organisation and industry, so those fields do most of the work.
Three fields matter most. Add a real photo, because people contact faces rather than silhouettes. Give a job title that says what you actually do. And link your organisation, so your profile and your organisation's listing point at each other.
Updating your details
Open My profile from the menu and edit it directly. Changes appear immediately and do not wait for approval.
Your organisation's own listing (address, description, industry) is edited under My company by whoever manages it in your organisation.
A note on visibility
Your profile is visible to members of your portal, not to the public internet. If you have any concerns about visibility, your organisation can tell you exactly what their directory shows.
